Making Connections: Chancellor Khosla Forges Community Ties in Visits to Campus Mural, Chicano Park

Sophomore Gracy Uriarte might not be attending classes at UC San Diego today had it not been for “Chicano Legacy – 40 Años,” a permanent campus art installation that depicts the struggles and dreams of underrepresented communities and pays tribute to social justice. Campus Participates in iCommute Challenge For First Time

UC San Diego is competing for the first time in the San Diego iCommute Corporate Challenge. Sponsored by SANDAG, the annual contest challenges local commuters to use alternative transportation to help reduce traffic congestion and greenhouse gas emissions. Currently, 59 percent of the campus community uses alternative transportation. For each trip that you log, UC San Diego will get a point in the race against fellow competitors in the “Mega Company (5,000+)” category, including the Naval Medical Center San Diego, Qualcomm and Sharp HealthCare.
