UCSD Athletics to be Featured on Fox Sports Net

The UCSD athletics department s will be featured on the upcoming On Campus show produced by Fox Sports Net for the NCAA. The 30-minute show, which focuses on successful student-athletes and athletic departments, visited UCSD in early November for its show that premiers on December 22.

Several UCSD administrators, coaches and student-athletes were interviewed for the piece that was aimed at finding out how UCSD is so successful in all 23 of its sports despite being the only Division II program that does not offer athletic scholarships.

The first airing on the show will happen on Fox Sports West at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, December 22. Fox Sports West 2 will also air the program on Friday, December 24 at 3:30 p.m. Both times listed are Pacific time.

UCSD student-athletes' excellence in the classroom as well as on the field consistently earns national recognition, with teams and individuals being named academic all-Americans and NCAA postgraduate scholars.

The average GPA of student-athletes is regularly at or above the average GPA for all students and UCSD student-athletes' efforts are often rewarded by admission to UCSD graduate and professional schools.
