UCSD Health Sciences recently announced its vision for meeting the future needs of its health care patients. According to Richard Liekweg, chief executive officer for UCSD Medical Center, this vision involves transforming both of its medical campuses over the next 15-20 years to improve care and service, and to be more responsive to its patients and the community. UCSD Cares Starts Today
The 4th annual UCSD Cares will be held Feb. 7 to Feb. 11 on Library Walk. The event is sponsored by the Associated Students, SOLO, the UCSD Bookstore and volunteers to raise contributions for local San Diego charities through fundraising and mini-service activities. Awarded Horatio Alger Award
Bernice
D. Ramirez, a senior at the Preuss School,
has been selected as a 2005 Horatio
Alger National Scholar by the Horatio
Alger Association of Distinguished Americans.
The award includes a $10,000 college
scholarship and an expense paid trip
to Washington D.C. April 6-10 for the
National Scholars conference.
