“UCSD Near You” Program to Tour the Nation

This Spring, UCSD is touring the nation with Chancellor Marye Anne Fox to launch UCSD Near You, a new program that will bring a piece of the campus to alumni, parents and friends across the country. The program will get under way with eight informal receptions from March through July featuring Chancellor Fox; future tours will feature prominent faculty, campus leaders and current students.

Before hitting the road, the program will kick off in San Diego at UCSD's Great Hall at 6 p.m., Wednesday, March 2. This event will provide an opportunity for attendees to interact with Chancellor Fox in an intimate setting the evening before her inauguration ceremony. Chancellor Fox will present her vision for the future of the university, and attendees will share their personal experiences and ideas with the new chancellor. Following San Diego, UCSD Near You will visit Los Angeles, Silicon Valley, San Francisco, Orange County, New York City, Boston and Sacramento.

"This is a very exciting opportunity for me to engage our extended UCSD family all across the country," said Chancellor Fox. "I look forward to hearing the ways that a UCSD education has enhanced the lives of our alumni, and I am eager to gain an even greater understanding of the attributes that make this institution so outstanding."
