Enjoy a Haunted Halloween with the Birch Aquarium at Scripps

October 17, 2005

Ghouls and buoys of all ages are invited to spend a safe and haunted Halloween with the Birch Aquarium at Scripps Institution of Oceanography.  From a costume contest to spooky, slimy science activities, the aquarium offers something for everyone this Halloween season.

The Birch Aquarium at Scripps will be transformed into a Haunted Aquarium on Thursday, Oct. 27; Friday, Oct. 28; and Saturday, Oct. 29, from 6-9 p.m.  This is an event the entire family will enjoy, featuring crafts and spooky science exhibits, such as creatures that glow, creeps from the deep, the ghost forest, and more!

Other fun activities include a slime lab, a pirate's cove where kids can listen to spooky stories, and trick-or-treating.  A costume contest will be held each evening and prizes will be awarded for the best marine-themed, scariest, and most creative costumes.  Haunted Aquarium is open for all ages.  Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.  Fee for Haunted Aquarium is $13.

For registration and more information on Haunted Aquarium, please call the Birch Aquarium at Scripps at 858/534-7336.
