UCSD Faculty Club Named 'Venue Of The Year'

The UCSD Faculty Club was named “Venue of the Year for 2005/2006” by Meeting Professionals International (MPI), San Diego Chapter, during the group’s annual leadership installation and performance award dinner held recently at the Westin Hotel.
Tom Mignano, the club’s executive director, and Gabriela Stratton, catering manager, accepted the award. Other Faculty Club representatives attending the dinner were Patricia and George Karetas, owners of Premier Food Services and Carriage Trade Catering; Sally Ashburn, Faculty Club board president; Ed Koengeter and Steve Sprague, chefs, and Temo Rincon, banquet manager.
The Faculty Club received the award for a breakfast meeting and breakout sessions it had hosted for MPI in January.
