Judith Munk, Friend and Artistic Influence
at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, Dies
Judith K. Munk, an artist, sculptress, architect and avid advocate and close friend of Scripps Institution of Oceanography and UCSD, died on May 19, 2006, in La Jolla.
She was 81 and died at Scripps Memorial Hospital from pneumonia. More |

UCSD is among 72 colleges and universities recognized by two federal agencies as Best Workplaces for Commuters. The institutions join more than 1,500 workplaces in nearly every industry that have been lauded for their efforts to reduce the number of cars on the road. More
Sustainability Award
The Price Center expansion has won a sustainable design award for the design of its heating, ventilation,
and air conditioning (HVAC) system. Project engineers targeted the HVAC system because HVAC systems typically consume the most energy in facilities. The expansion will equal the size of the existing Price
Center but it will require 70% less energy to heat and cool than the existing Price Center according to the project manager. More
