What’s New: Rady School of Management

What’s new this academic year? This Week@UCSD is taking a quick look at what’s in store for different areas of campus. Here’s what the Rady School of Management is up to for 2006-07.
• The Rady School’s first on-campus building will be complete in spring 2007. It is approximately 50,000 assignable square feet and will feature classrooms, conference rooms and common areas for students, as well as faculty and staff offices.

• The U.S. Department of State granted an additional $3.97 million to the Beyster
Institute at the Rady School for a Middle East entrepreneurship program.

• The Rady School hired many distinguished faculty this year, including 1990 Nobel Laureate in Economics Harry M. Markowitz. The new faculty at the Rady School have been recruited from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, the College of Management at Georgia Institute of Technology and the Paul Merage School of Business at UC Irvine. More
• The Rady Center for Executive Development will offer a course with INSEAD, the European business school, called “Business Strategy for Human Resource Leaders” on February 5-8, 2007. More
• UCSD Athena, an organization for executive women in science,
technology and healthcare is now part of the Rady School.
