Last Chance to Name a Seat in the Conrad Prebys Concert Hall
May 10, 2010
As the first anniversary celebration of UC San Diego’s Conrad Prebys Music Center nears, the center’s seat naming fundraising initiative will come to a close.
But before May 31, donors can still name a seat in the acoustically perfect Conrad Prebys Concert Hall—a unique opportunity to honor a family member, friend or respected mentor in one of the best small concert halls in the world.
Department of Music Chair Miller Puckette adds that contributions to name a seat at $1,000 each, or a gift of size to any of the following funds, will create innumerable opportunities for the new generation of musicians on the West Coast. The three areas where gifts can have the most impact are:
Piano and Equipment Maintenance (R-41942) – to offset the $150,000 per year necessary to keep performance and teaching instruments in top condition.
Graduate fellowships (R-41469) – to attract and maintain the level of our diverse and talented community of scholars.
Departmental discretionary funds (F-3983) – to respond to innovative ideas and cost-saving opportunities.
In addition, for seat naming gifts or pledges received by May 15, 2010, individuals will be invited to attend the Conrad Prebys Music Center first anniversary reception and concert in late May.
