UC San Diego researchers fared well in this year’s Multidisciplinary University Research Initiative (MURI) competition, held annually by the Department of Defense. The DOD has announced MURI awards for two UC San Diego-led research teams and three teams of which UC San Diego researchers are a part.
Tragically, almost 5 million people in the United States are evaluated in emergency departments for traumatic brain injury (TBI) each year. Over the past few decades, awareness of the magnitude and consequences of TBI has increased, particularly among athletes and military service members.
Fifty-one faculty members and researchers at the University of California San Diego have been cited as among the world’s most influential in their fields, according to the 2021 Clarivate listing of Most Highly Cited Researchers in the World.
