Ten Winners Receive Free Tickets to Sold-Out TEDxUCSD

Ten winners have been selected to receive free tickets to TEDxUCSD and dinner with the speakers at a post-conference mixer courtesy of Chancellor Pradeep K. Khosla. Last week, the campus launched a giveaway contest for free tickets to the student-organized event slated for May 11. More than 1,300 people entered the contest, which ran from May 2 to May 7.

TEDxUCSD will bring together 18 speakers who are trailblazers in their fields, from biotech researchers to social entrepreneurs. The goal is to engage and inspire the campus community in discussions about change.

“I’m pleased to be a TEDxUCSD sponsor so that more campus community members may attend the event,” said Chancellor Pradeep K. Khosla. “TEDxUCSD is an exciting opportunity to hear from leaders at UC San Diego, and in our broader community, who are making a difference in the world.

The winners are: Eloy Alonso, Alexandra Autotte, Karen Callander, Heaven Edwards, Guadalupe Flores, Chuan Jiang, Bryan Lim, Arturo Mullins, Senam Payandeh and Preecha Pinsook.

Tickets for TEDxUCSD are sold out, but the student organizers hope to make this an annual event. For more information about TEDxUCSD, visit www.tedxucsd.com or email tedx@ucsd.edu.
