Summer 2014 Social media roundup

UC San Diego happenings and news received a lot of attention on social media over the summer break. More than 3,500 new fans joined the UC San Diego Facebook site, bringing the total number of fans to nearly 40,000. An additional 1,000 people also began following the UC San Diego News Twitter feed, bringing the total to nearly 14,000. You can also now follow UC San Diego on Instagram. Join the conversation!

Heading into the fall, students will have the chance to showcase their campus experience through the UC San Diego Life Facebook page. Already, student interns at University Communications and Public Affairs have come up with creative stories to tell, including a compilation of 15 Dorm Essentials for freshmen and a Did you Know? series highlighting fun facts about campus life and resources for new and returning students. In the coming year, the Twitter handle @UCSanDiego will provide real-time updates from select campus events and invite students and the campus community to join the online conversation.
