UC San Diego Research Affairs –The Office of Innovation and Commercialization, in partnership with Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati (WSGR), will kick off the first seminar of their inaugural Entrepreneurship Seminar Series, Mar. 9, at 2:30 p.m. in Roth Auditorium - Sanford Consortium for Regenerative Medicine.

The seminar is the first of an eighteen-month series, free and open to anyone at UC San Diego and the general public, including members of any other research institutions.

Focused on educating innovators and entrepreneurs on the various aspects of technology commercialization, company formation and funding, the seminar series also serves as an opportunity to collaborate with local leaders in corporate and intellectual property law.

“We’re excited to partner with UC San Diego to provide innovators with support for their start-ups and entrepreneurial goals,” said Matthew Bresnahan of WSGR. “We recognize the importance of regional partnerships in creating a robust community of entrepreneurship and economic development.”

Rubén Flores, Director of Commercialization, emphasized the relevancy of the free training opportunity for early entrepreneurs.

“It is our mission to provide support to innovators and entrepreneurs in the region for the benefit of our communities and beyond,” said Flores. “The San Diego region has a wealth of talent, expertise and technology which play an integral role in the future economic and social prosperity of our region. We’re excited to offer this educational opportunity to the community.”
