TEDxUCSD is debuting at UC San Diego in May 2013. Created in the spirit of TED’s mission of “Ideas Worth Spreading,” TEDxUCSD is a student-run initiative bringing together leading thinkers and doers to share ideas that matter in and to any discipline. Through a local forum, TEDxUCSD hopes to spark deep discussion and connection to inspire people to change their lives, their futures and ultimately their world.

The theme of this year’s TEDxUCSD is "Innovation & Tradition." Innovation is an addition or change to something established. Tradition is a belief, behavior, or object passed down within a society, still maintained in the present, with origins in the past. “Innovation & Tradition” represents opposite ends on the spectrum of change. TEDxUCSD hopes to share lessons about change to inspire change—good change.

You may nominate speakers who have a groundbreaking idea that intersects with the TEDxUCSD theme by completing the following form: http://ShortURL.ucsd.edu/?page=w7K6E
