Yesterday was a tragic day in Christchurch, New Zealand when a gunman killed at least 49 people in attacks on two mosques. We are heartbroken over this horrific act and extend our thoughts and support to the Muslim community, and all those affected by this senseless act of hatred and violence.

UC San Diego joins fellow citizens across our nation and the world in condemning discrimination, racism and any form of violence directed at others because of their identity, ethnicity, race, religion or beliefs. For those seeking solace, we are here for you. Support resources for faculty, staff and students include Counseling and Psychological Services, (858) 534-3755, and the Faculty and Staff Assistance Program, (858) 534-5523.

On behalf of our UC San Diego community, we extend our sincere condolences.
