Commitment recognizes school’s growing recognition, impact on technology entrepreneurship and economic development

The Rady Family Foundation has made a $100 million commitment to help recruit and retain faculty and fund strategic priorities at the Rady School of Management at UC San Diego. More than 200 Rady School supporters, alumni, students and business leaders attended a press conference Tuesday at the Rady School’s J.R. In the early morning hours of Saturday, June 6, more than 3,000 members of the UC San Diego community are expected to gather in support of student scholarships by participating in the 19th annual Triton 5K and Festival. UC San Diego Women’s Conference

Students Test Engineering Skills at Paper Wings Competition

There was no need for cockpits, jet engines or fuel on April 1 in the Main Gym on campus, where students competed for the title of best paper airplane pilot or engineer. The students competed in three categories: longest distance, longest airtime and aerobatics for a chance to fly to Salzburg, Austria and take part in the world finals of Red Bull's Paper Wings contest May 8 and 9. UC San Diego is evaluating its strategy for providing retail, dining, and entertainment services to students, staff, faculty and visitors. Expansion plans by neighboring shopping centers, the growth of on-line shopping, and the imminent opening of two light rail stations on campus require careful planning of future retail, dining and entertainment services on campus. As part of this process, the university is collecting information from students, staff and faculty about their preferences for retail, dining, and entertainment services.
