UC San Diego Ranked 12th Nationally Among Peace Corps’ Top Colleges

UC San Diego ranks 12th nationally among large schools on Peace Corps’ 2014 Top Colleges list, up from 13th place last year. The campus took the No. 4 spot among large California schools in the annual list which recognizes the highest volunteer-producing colleges and universities for small, medium, large and graduate institutions. There are currently 54 undergraduate alumni from UC San Diego serving overseas in the Peace Corps. Read More »

Drawn to Barcelona for the excitement of a large metropolitan city and the opportunity to interact with a global community, Mireya Pinell-Cruz recently embarked on a yearlong study abroad journey to Spain. Pinell-Cruz is one of more than 100 UC San Diego students who study and conduct research abroad for a year or longer—part of a total of 1,200 UC San Diego students who go abroad each year. Theatre and Dance Professor Wins Design Award

The League of Professional Theatre Women is honoring the work of Judith Dolan, a Tony Award-winning UC San Diego professor of theatre and dance and head of design, with the Ruth Morley Design Award. Gregory Boyd, artistic director of the Alley Theatre, will be presenting the award in a ceremony March 10 at the Signature Theatre in New York City. This marks the first time the award is being presented to a “non-New Yorker.” Read More »

The Chancellor’s Advisory Committee on the Status of Women (CSW) is seeking nominations for women in faculty positions for this year’s YWCA’s “Tribute to Women & Industry” (TWIN) Award.
