Breast milk is known to provide the best source of nutrition for newborns and infants, and for premature babies, it can be lifesaving. Yet much about the composition of human milk and what makes it so beneficial is still a mystery. To help scientists bridge this knowledge gap, the Switzerland-based Family Larsson-Rosenquist Foundation has made a $10.5 million gift to UC San Diego, home to one of the world’s only centers dedicated to human milk research. Invitation to Offer Input About Qualities for Executive Vice Chancellor Candidates

The search for candidates for Executive Vice Chancellor – Academic Affairs will launch this month with two listening sessions for campus constituents to provide input about the desired characteristics for the next EVC. Search Committee Chair Jeff Elman and Search Consultant David Bellshaw will host the sessions. All campus constituents are invited to attend. The sessions will be held at the Faculty Club on Thursday, Jan. 19; the first from 9-10 a.m. in the Main Dining Room; and the second from 1-2 p.m. in the Atkinson Pavilion. Learn More »
