UC San Diego Students Aim to Break World Record for Longest Flight of 3D-Printed Rocket Engine

On a hot, dusty Friday evening in May, a caravan of cars packed with UC San Diego students rolled onto a site in the Mojave Desert for testing rockets. It took three tries, but the UC San Diego chapter of Students for the Exploration and Development of Space were able to successfully test the latest version of their 3D-printed rocket engine.

Paul Roben Appointed Associate Vice Chancellor for Innovation and Technology Commercialization

Paul Roben has been named Associate Vice Chancellor for Innovation and Technology Commercialization. He will partner with the Vice Chancellor for Research to transform the functions provided by the Technology Transfer Office, Industry Research Alliances and Industry Contracting into an integrated organization. Roben currently serves as Senior Director of the Office Technology Development at the Salk Institute. Read More »
