The exploration of Mars began nearly two decades ago with the successful landing of an automobile-sized, one-ton robot. Now, students at UC San Diego are working to develop the next generation of Mars rovers. Their semi-autonomous robot is one of just 36 that made it to the final round of the 2017 University Rover Challenge, an international robotics competition for college students put on by The Mars Society. Faculty Invited to Participate in All Campus Commencement

All UC San Diego Senate Faculty are invited to participate in UC San Diego's Commencement weekend, which will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 17, at RIMAC Field with the All Campus Commencement ceremony. Today is the last day to register and place your regalia order by visiting the commencement website. The ceremony will unite the Class of 2017 as a community and include the conferral of degrees for an anticipated 8,000 graduating students. His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama will serve as keynote speaker. Read More »
