These are some of the questions UC San Diego’s Sexual Assault and Violence Prevention Resource Center (SARC) has been working to answer for more than 25 years. SARC is a valuable campus resource dedicated to developing innovative and proactive violence prevention programs and providing comprehensive services to victims and survivors of sexual assault, dating/domestic violence and stalking. Undergraduates at UC San Diego will now be able to pursue a bachelor of arts in global health – an increasingly popular new field of study and urgent social concern. Robotics Legends Converge at UC San Diego Forum

After the industrial revolution and the Internet revolution, we are now poised for the robotics revolution. Influential robotics researchers and industry leaders made this prediction in many different ways Friday at the Contextual Robotics Technologies International Forum at UC San Diego. Meet the Beach

On Saturday, Oct. 4, several hundred new freshmen and transfer students took part in the campus’s seventh annual “Meet the Beach” event. The giant beach party/beach cleanup took place at the tail end of Welcome Week and allowed students to participate in various activities. The event, hosted by UC San Diego’s recreation department, featured surf lessons, “beach” zumba, kayaking, pier tours, tide pool tours, yoga, soccer, volleyball and more. In addition, Volunteer50, a campus-wide initiative that aims to inspire and celebrate community service at UC San Diego, recruited many volunteers to participate in a beach cleanup as part of the day of festivities. Bus Zone Pass Changing For Faculty and Staff

Changes to the Bus Zone program this fall will affect how faculty and staff access transit services. With implementation of the new student U-Pass, the current Bus Zone program provided by MTS will no longer be available after Oct. 31. Instead, eligible faculty and staff will be able to take advantage of a new MTS program called ECO Pass, a regional transit pass that provides access to all regular MTS buses and the San Diego Trolley at a discounted rate.
