In her second week as President of the University of California, Janet Napolitano traveled to UC San Diego on Thursday, October 10, to meet student leaders, staff and faculty and to see first-hand the interdisciplinary research that has made the campus a top-ten public university. Accompanied by Provost and Executive Vice President Aimee Dorr, President Napolitano visited Calit2 on the general campus, the Center for the Future of Surgery in Health Sciences, and the Hydraulics Laboratory at Scripps Institution of Oceanography. UC Challenging People to ‘Eat Real’ as Part of National Food Day Campaign

For the third year, the University of California is joining forces and challenging people to “eat real” as part of national Food Day on Oct. 24. Last year 2,218 UC employees pledged to eat healthy, unpackaged and sustainable food. This year, members of the campus community are encouraged to eat fresh, healthy food at campus restaurants and markets the week of Oct. 21.
