The San Diego City Council presented a proclamation officially recognizing April 2 to 6 as Graduate-Professional Student Appreciation Week in San Diego. The announcement was made April 4 at the Interdisciplinary Research Celebration at UC San Diego.

 
Quintet

The Jeff Kaiser Quartet performed at the Loft Wednesday. The band, made up of UC San Diego students, faculty and alums, rocked the stage performing free-funk jazz in a show with free admission. The group opened for Peter Sprague Quartet, who performed classic modern jazz. Both bands use of improvisation displays a talent for creating innovative music.

Registrar’s Office to Launch Electronic Grading System

The Registrar's Office plans to launch a new electronic grading system called eGrades for UC San Diego for Spring 2012. A secure web-based system, eGrades will be used for the submission of final grades at the end of each term and for all grade changes for prior terms up to one year. The eGrades system was piloted successfully with five academic units for Winter 2012. Find more information on Blink. Read More »

Strike Out Stroke Night at The Padres

The San Diego Stroke Consortium, the County of San Diego, and UC San Diego Health System are partnering with the San Diego Padres to promote an evening of stroke awareness and survivor celebration. The event will be held May 1 at the Padres vs. Brewers game. Tickets will be sold as a ticket & T-shirt bundle and are offered at a discounted rate of $15 at the following locations:

-Hillcrest cafeteria from 11:30 to 1 p.m. April 10, 12

-Thornton cafeteria from 11:30 to 12:30 p.m. April 10

-Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the UC San Diego Stroke Center through April 15
